WiFi is a wireless local area network that transmits data back and forth. The data is transmitted from one piece of equipment to another via high frequency radio signals.

The “technology” is the transmission of signals and/or data. The transmission bounces off one piece of equipment to another. The transmission of the signal is usually a few hundred feet. Examples of using WiFi technology include sitting in a motel room on the bed and surfing the internet, or playing a video game online, on a wireless handheld device.

While you are using your laptop to search and receive information over the internet, it is sending and receiving signals from a small piece of equipment that is usually sitting on a desk in your motel room. That small piece of equipment is in turn, sending and receiving information from a computer server, generally via a telephone line, or fiber optic cable such as the cable company would use.

Technology is rapidly evolving and changing what we know to be true today, may not even apply tomorrow. WiFi allows us to move around our homes, move around our offices, and generally move around our world and stay connected to the internet. We are able to get and deliver information “on the go” because of WiFi technology.

The big hook to entice customers to sign on with a mobile phone company is the lure of unlimited usage. Other than roaming charges and phone quality, this is the biggest selling point for the billion dollar mobile industry. The consumer should be wary. Not everyone needs to pay for an unlimited plan.

First you must evaluate usage for yourself and your family. Is the phone plan just for you, or are you adding chatty teenagers to the plan? Families can benefit from unlimited plans because more people means higher minute usage. However, you may not want your kids on the phone constantly and a limit on minutes might be a better use of your money. It’s important to ask a lot of questions and compare rates. Is a four hundred minute plan a lot cheaper than an unlimited plan? If you are on a really tight budget, then the limited plans make more sense. Unlimited usually means a higher monthly fee.

Single line unlimited plans are worth it for people who like to text and talk a lot. However, if you are someone who doesn’t enjoy talking and texting that much, then looking into a limited use plan would probably better suit your needs.

With computers becoming more and more complicated, the idea of owning a smart tablet can seem daunting. It is a new way to use a computer. Luckily, the whole interface has been designed to be easy to use and user-friendly. A smart tablet is a great choice for a computer user looking for things that aren’t quite as complicated.

The first thing you have to realize with a smart tablet is that you will be using your fingers instead of a keyboard and mouse.I was looking for more information and found it here. Some allow you to attach a keyboard but for the most part it is unnecessary. When you want to move something on the screen you simple hold your finger over the icon or file and then drag it where you want it to go.

Most tablets also use a form of multi-touch . This means that the more fingers you have the screen the more different things you can do. For example, you can zoom in on a photograph by using a pinch like motion with two fingers. These multi-touch gestures are extremely helpful when learning how to use a smart tablet.

These are just a few tips to help you get started. Using a tablet is a great way to be connected!

So you just got a smartphone and you’re not really sure what all this baby can do – well the real question should be what CAN’T it do. Besides the standard emailing and directions, your smartphone probably has a lot more useful features of wireless internet you just don’t know about yet. Here are a few of the ones we use most
Movie Times: How many times have you been out and about and thought “hey, now would be a great time to see a movie!” Now you can just use your phone to look up theaters and times and there are even apps you can download to do it all for you.
Make a List: there are tons of great apps available for making grocery lists that you can manage from your palm. We use ours to add ingredients and cross them off as we put them in the cart.
Manage photos: Your phone probably takes some really great pictures and it stores a lot of them, too. Make folders and send straight from your device. Oh, the wonders of technology!

There are many great reasons to purchase an iPhone, dependent mostly upon what you use the phone for the most. For many, it is the iPod. There is no better music player on the market than the iPod, mixing portability with intuitiveness. Apple’s decision to include the iPod functionality into the iPhone was pure genius, and is a must for anyone that likes to have their music with them at all times.
Adding to the great functionality of the phone when it comes to music is iTunes. As iTunes has proven itself as the best program for buying, storing, and playing music, movies, and videos, the fact that it is only compatible with Apple products makes this a no-brainer.
If you have ever glanced at someone’s iPhone, probably the first thing that stood out to you was how nice the screen looked. The display is magnificent, and the touchscreen capability is far superior than what you would find on any other device.
The iPhone is quickly replacing many point and shoot cameras in stores. This is due to the great quality of the camera. Since many of us keep our phones on us at all times, this makes for one less thing to carry and keep track of.
Perhaps the most important for many consumers is the fact that Apple is the innovator of so many new technologies. Each new iPhone changes the idea of what a phone should be, and they don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon!

Android smartphones are definitely the wave of the future. If you have looked into purchasing a cell phone recently, chances are a majority of them ran the Android operating system. The reason for this is mostly due to the fact that the program is open source.
Since Android is open source, it allows for developers to keep the programming up to date, fresh, and most importantly, in tune with the audience it serves. For example, anyone with the proper programming toolset, time, and knowledge of how the system works, can make improvements to the system as they see fit. Furthermore, they can give away, or sell for profit their creation in the Android market. The developers can see these programs, and if they think the majority of users would like it, they can implement it into everyone’s Android phone by simply updating the network.
It is forward thinking such as this that is allowing the Android operating system to slowly gain favor with programmers. Not having to adhere to the programming that came pre-installed is a huge selling point. Having the ability to make your phone function in the way that best serves you is definitely the wave of the future.

In the social media rampage that is going on the days, it may be difficult to pick the right smartphone for you. Some people insist the Blackberry is better then Android phones, and other people swear the Android smartphones are a god send. So, are Android smartphones more popular then Blackberrys? This is based on what you want out of your phone. When asking yourself which phone is better, you must take into consideration all of the key aspects. Which one has better networking, better OS, which is more user friendly, and other factors.

When it comes to networking and upgrades, the Blackberry is the current crown holder of the two devices. In networking Blackberry’s excel due to corporate email sharing and the BlackBerry Desktop Software, which allows you to back up your device. Blackberry phones also are so much faster and easier with upgrading opposed to most Android phones taking ages to upgrade especially with older hardware.

Now if you are looking at OS, style, and apps as well as sales, then Android is the clear winner. Android phones are starting to abolish a qwerty keyboard altogether in favor of smooth touch screen and motion sensing gyroscopes as opposed to Blackberry’s keyboard phones. Blackberry has an extensive app market, but Android blows it out the water with literally millions of apps! Currently, Android phones are selling like hotcakes and are showing no signs of quitting. So when asking someone downright if Android smartphones are more popular then Blackberrys the answer is a definite yes!

The Android operating system is what is known as open source, meaning certain inner workings of the program are able to be accessed and edited by programmers. This leads to all sorts of interesting developments that make using an Android phone different than using any other type of phone.
Unlike other phones, if you don’t like the way the on screen keyboard looks, you can download another. If the messaging app is not to your liking, there are hundreds to choose from in the market.
The Android market is another advantage to an Android phone. Unlike other markets, the Android market does not limit programmers with what they can program. If someone requests it, and someone else can program it, there is a pretty good possibility it will be on the market.
The Android operating system is also very fast. Because there is not a lot of detailed programming running at the same time, the processing speed is much faster than other phones. This can be an important factor when it comes to running big programs, such as games or streaming content.
Ease of use was also obviously front of mind when Android was being programmed. It is very intuitive, and comes stock with many customization options.
Lastly, the fact that the developers of Android are paying attention to what customers are saying about their product is perhaps the most important reason to buy an Android phone. There will be many new innovations to come!
